Yoga As Medicine, Level 2:
Ayurveda, Yoga and Yoga Therapy

In this five-day, 30 hour training, we will study the elements of Ayurveda (traditional Indian holistic medicine) that apply directly to yoga therapy. The format will be the same as the YAM 1 course, with group case work playing a vital role. Although it is no longer required, attendees are strongly encouraged to take YAM 1 before taking this training.

During the training, we'll practice methods like pulse and tongue diagnosis to determine constitution (prakriti), current doshic imbalances (vikriti), and the state of agni, ama, ojas, etc.

Case work and lectures will detail an Ayurvedic perspective on different asana, pranayama, and meditation techniques, and show how nutritional advice, as well as seasonal and lifestyle rituals can be tailored to address specific imbalances.
